Situation
The Gables is situated just to the East of the main town of Rothesay on the West of Scotland Island of Bute in a mature location and on the promontory that overlooks the firth of Clyde, Toward, Loch Striven and the entrance to the Kyles of Bute and over which there are ever changing, panoramic mountain, glens and seascape views. The house is set in well maintained gardens which are well defined and well stocked and the house is only 1.6 miles from the town centre of Rothesay.

A second ferry service runs between Rhubodach on the north of Bute to Colintraive giving access to Argyll and the West Highlands. The two nearest airports are Glasgow and Prestwick, which are a circa 40 and 50 minutes’ drive respectively in normal driving conditions from Wemyss Bay.

Leisure
Rothesay has an 18 hole golf course from where there are outstanding views of the Firth of Clyde and Arran. Smaller courses are at Port Bannatyne and Kingarth. Bute is an area of significant natural beauty and enjoys a mild climate, with many opportunities for coastal and hill walking and mountain biking. Fresh water and sea fishing are available, and there are shooting and stalking opportunities. The island has its own grass airstrip for light aircraft and microlights.
Sailing
The area is notable for its sailing on the famous Kyles of Bute, which is a National Scenic Area. Tighnabruaich and Colintraive to the north, and the Crinan Canal and Tarbert to the West, are centres of lively sailing activity throughout the season. There are marinas, sheltered moorings, chandlery and boating services in Rothesay and Port Bannatyne.

Full profileProperty listingsHome Report
The business model of Estate Agency and Lettings distribution has changed, no longer do people pour over local papers searching for their dream home; no longer do they need to look in estate agents' windows or queue to discuss search criteria with estate agency or lettings receptionists. In recognising this, we have changed too, we have evolved to develop an efficient business model which pro-actively distributes property globally via our well managed database and digitally via the world wide web. Good systems are important to us, however, Estate & Lettings Agency is a people business, our people have been carefully selected for their scope of property and customer interfacing expertise. We recruit intelligent, clear thinking and articulate property professionals. The team has an average of 20 years’ experience in the industry and we are proud to have been behind some of the most high profile and often complex sales and property asset management deals in the West of Scotland. At Robb Residential we can’t say we are the largest firm, we’re not. At Robb Residential, we can’t say we are the smallest firm; we’re not. Our point of difference lies in our people and in the delivery of service excellence. The Robb Residential team owns and shares in its commitment to delivering that service excellence, and so what we can say with a measure of assured confidence is that we will be the best.
