Built in 1928 and extended several times since, Laurieston is a former care home - a business run by the current owners for 34 years. At the front, a large drive separates the property from the road and offers parking space for several cars. At the rear, the south-facing garden is level, with a lawn at the centre and paving running along the width of the house, and then along to a dining patio. The boundary on one side forms along a drive that gives access to several small bungalow properties beyond the plot. On the other, the boundary is a wall along which there's a flowerbed with mature shrubs. The laundry room/workshop sits in the far corner and has plumbing/electrics and modern fittings.

Chippenham is a historic market town with a thriving shopping and entertainment centre in a convenient location with easy access to the M4 (it's equidistant from the commercial centres of Bristol and Swindon). The property is 1.5 miles from Chippenham station (there are non-stop services to London Paddington and also regular services to Bath Spa and Bristol Temple Meads). There are good local schools, including Sheldon and Hardenhuish, and a supermarket and medical centre/pharmacy close by.
The world heritage city of Bath with its wealth of shops, galleries, restaurants and cultural activities lies 13 miles to the south west.
