Navan is a thriving business town with a host of high street shops, excellent schools, leisure and sport facilities, restaurants and hotels while Slane is home to the famous Slane Castle. There is a fine selection of old world pubs to choose from with both Ryan's of Gorman Lough and the much anticipated 'The Kilberry' within the vicinity. The archaeological complex of Bru na Boinne is around 5,000 years old and includes the burial sites of Newgrange, Knowth and Dowth, in the northeast of the county and are designated a World Heritage Site. There are many beautiful walks along the River Boyne and indeed the River Blackwater and the area is famous for the 'The Boyne Way'. There is excellent racing nearby in Navan and Fairyhouse.

There is also great hunting offered by the Meath Hunt and the Ward Union Hunt. Golfers are catered for with some magnificent courses close by such as Killeen Castle, Headford and Knightsbrook in Trim. Dublin is easily accessible by car in under an hour (approx. 53km) in light traffic while Dublin Airport is closer yet again. The area is well serviced by both private and public buses with stops in Slane, Kilberry and Navan.
