'The Grange' is the former home of Lord Herbert Austin of 'The Austin Motor Company' and is situated on the south facing slopes of the Lickey Hills, just 10 miles from the centre of Birmingham and a few minutes drive from the M5 and M42 motorway connections. The building started life as Lickey Grange in 1876 and was bought by Lord Austin in 1910 . It was reported that the famous 'Austin 7' was designed in the billiards room. On Lord Austin’s death in 1941, Lickey Grange was sold and used as a residential school. In 1997 the building was restored and converted into an exclusive luxury apartment complex - each one individual in design. On 3 October 1997, the bust of Lord Austin set into the wall next to the main gates was unveiled by his grandson, Gerald Lambert, at the official opening ceremony of Grange Park.
