Description

Finavon Castle is a Category C Listed baronial mansion house dating from 1865, which remained in the same family until the early 1980s. The ruins of an earlier castle are close by. In 1984 the building was converted into eight apartments. The Lindsay Suite is on the ground floor of the castle and has lovely views over farmland to Finavon Hill. Entry to the flat is by a paved path to a large astragalled door at the side of the castle, into a vestibule and a shared hallway. The flat has been renovated over recent years, with particular attention to detail. In 2007 the kitchen and bathroom were refurbished and the en suite created. Wooden flooring was laid in the hallway, reception room and kitchen. The roof, in conjunction with neighbouring proprietors, has recently been thoroughly renovated, and in 2021 a wood burning stove was installed.

A wooden front door opens to a vestibule with a tiled floor and an inner door to the hallway. The fine recepion room overlooks the garden and has lovely views to Finavon Hill. Features include a limestone fireplace with a Hamlet wood burning stove, two display alcoves, glazed door with window shutters and steps out to the private area of garden, which links to the communal gardens beyond. Adjacent are bedrooms one and two, with the latter having a hanging and shelved cupboard housing a Bosch boiler. The fully fitted country style dining kitchen has attractive wall and floor units with wooden worktops, tiled splashbacks and soft closing drawers, a Rangemaster cooker with five burners, two ovens and grill, within a recess with mantel over. Further appliances include a Zanussi Aquacycle 1000 washing machine, Bosch dishwasher and a Hotpoint fridge and freezer. There is a centre island unit and ample space for dining. Bedroom three has an enchambre en suite with tiled shower cubicle, washbasin, bidet, WC and a tiled floor. The family bathroom has a feature stone wall, roll top bath, WC, pedestal washbasin and a tiled floor.

Within a communal block of six garages is a garage (6.2 m x 3.2 m) with an up and over door, concrete floor and power.

A rhododendron-lined path leads to the shared walled garden which is divided into eight private spaces. The garden area for The Lindsay Suite is down to grass.

The communal grounds include many fine specimen trees and lovely walks.

    Basic: Up to 30 Mbit/s
    Super-fast: Between 30 Mbit/s and 300 Mbit/s
    Ultra-fast: Over 300 Mbit/s

The data is updated three times a year. The checker results are predictions and should not be regarded as guaranteed. For more information, see: https://checker.ofcom.org.uk/en-gb/about-checker#Answer_0_2

Mobile signal predictions are provided by the four UK mobile network operators: EE, O2, Three and Vodafone. Predictions can vary significantly from the coverage you may actually experience as a result of local factors (especially terrain). Ofcom has tested the actual coverage provided in various locations around the UK to help ensure that these predictions are reasonable. The values shown against a property can be broken down as follows:

Clear: No bars, no signal predicted
Red: One bar, reliable signal unlikely
Amber: Two bars, may experience problems with connectivity
Green: Three bars, likely to have good coverage and receive a data rate to support basic web services
Enhanced: Full bars, likely to have good coverage indoors and to receive an enhanced data rate to support multimedia services
