Description

Built in 1838, Lime Tree Cottage sits on a site which was purchased from the sale of the De Grey Estate in 1836. This iconic Gothic style cottage was one of two properties built by renowned joiners George and Eli Horsfall and sits in a south facing position behind the beautifully landscaped mature garden overlooking Clifton Green.

The current owners have carried out an extensive and sympathetic renovation, restoring this wonderful Grade II listed early Victorian cottage back to its former glory.

Throughout the property there are a number of period features that have been enhanced by the present owners including deep skirtings, moulded cornicing, sliding ground floor window shutters and original built-in cupboards.

Arranged over two floors, the accommodation is well proportioned and flows extremely well. To the ground floor there is a bespoke fitted kitchen with Aga, a dining room, sitting room, study and WC. Upstairs there are three double bedrooms and a house bathroom. Off the secluded walled courtyard garden to the rear there is a utility room, boiler room, garden store and garage.

The house is approached via double wrought iron gates on to a gravelled driveway leading to an ample parking area and garage. There is a mature lawned garden and borders to the front of the house with a brick wall and decorative wrought iron railings. The original well and hand water pump have been restored by the current owners.
