Description

2 West Street is a fine Grade II* Listed town house dating from the early 18th century. The property is laid out over three floors behind an impressive Georgian facade in this sought after market town.

The house, south facing and enjoying excellent light, has been sympathetically restored to the highest standard whilst remaining faithful to the period of the property. It retains many of its original features including, fireplaces, tiled floor, sash windows, shutters, panelling, cellars and a magnificent staircase at the heart of the property.

In more detail the accommodation comprises grand entrance hall, drawing room and dining room both with open fires, charming kitchen breakfast room overlooking the garden to the rear, ground floor WC and a large utility room. The first floor has a principle bedroom with en suite bathroom, guest bedroom with en suite bathroom, three further bedrooms and a bathroom. The top floor has two well proportioned bedrooms set into the eaves with dormer windows and a store room.
Outside the inviting landscaped garden tempts you down an attractive gravel path, past the annexe, to a lawned area with mature trees.

Beyond, through a wrought iron gate, the wonderfully private gardens continue, surrounding the gated gravelled parking suitable for several cars which is accessed between 14 and 16 West Street. There are two good sized stores and a potting shed. The annexe has a ground floor kitchen and sitting room complete with log burner, first floor sitting room, bedroom and bathroom. It has proved to be a very popular holiday let.
