Ampneyfield is a small cluster or cottages in a rural location between the pretty villages of Ampney Crucis and Barnsley some 3 miles east of Cirencester.
Barnsley is a very attractive Cotswold village consisting in the main of traditional Period houses and cottages. Situated in the heart of the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty the village is also designated a Conservation Area.
The village also features a well-regarded public house and restaurant called The Village Pub, which is now under the same ownership as the boutique Barnsley House Hotel, the former home of the renowned garden designer Rosemary Verey.
Nearby Cirencester offers an excellent range of shopping – including Waitrose, Tesco, Aldi and Lidl supermarkets as well as a comprehensive range of other amenities such as shops, post office, hospital and sports centre.
