Description

Description
This 134 acre (54.4 hectare) woodland lies within the Ranmore Common SSSI. Ranmore Common SSSI is a 224 hectare (545 acre) biological site of special scientific interest. The SSSI is mainly woodland, some of it ancient but there are some areas of heath and rough pasture. The dominant trees are oak with a shrub layer of holly, silver birch and yew. There is a diverse community of breeding birds and invertebrate which includes satin raise moth and white admiral butterfly.

Ashcombe Woods is not fenced with much of the woodland classified as open access land (CROW Act land) and is also Registered Common Land.

The Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000 (CROW Act) gives a public right of access to land mapped as open country (downland, common land, and heathland). These areas are known as open access land where the public can normally walk, sightsee, bird watch, climb and run.

Situation
Positioned high up on the Surrey Hills, the location is highly attractive yet accessible. Ashcombe Woods are situated near to the traditional and well regarded market town of Dorking, which provides a range of local and regional services. The area is extremely well served by road and rail for access to London and the international airports of Heathrow and Gatwick.

    Basic: Up to 30 Mbit/s
    Super-fast: Between 30 Mbit/s and 300 Mbit/s
    Ultra-fast: Over 300 Mbit/s

The data is updated three times a year. The checker results are predictions and should not be regarded as guaranteed. For more information, see: https://checker.ofcom.org.uk/en-gb/about-checker#Answer_0_2

Predictions can vary significantly from the coverage you may actually experience as a result of local factors (especially terrain). Ofcom has tested the actual coverage provided in various locations around the UK to help ensure that these predictions are reasonable. The values shown against a property can be broken down as follows:

Clear: No bars, no signal predicted
Red: One bar, reliable signal unlikely
Amber: Two bars, may experience problems with connectivity
Green: Three bars, likely to have good coverage and receive a data rate to support basic web services
