When I was house hunting all those years ago, there was a day when I had lined up about six flats to see - none of them quite right. And then I walked into this flat and instantly said ‘I could live here.' - And it was a brilliant decision.
Everyone who visits for the first time says ‘Wow!' when they see the living room. It is very spacious, benefits from high ceilings and is wonderfully light; it gets sun all day long.
The kitchen faces west and you get fabulous sunsets and at night you can often see the moon through the roof windows. I love the fact that, as the flat is situated on the top floor, I can leave the windows open all the time, making it very airy.
And then in winter it is gorgeously cosy with the coal-effect gas fire which is very realistic.
The location is great - lots of friendly neighbours and shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants galore.
It is in walking distance of the West End and only a few minutes walk from King's Cross, St Pancras and Euston. For a base to see theatre, museums, art, music and everything else, it could not be better.
But even though it is so close to all these amenities, the street is surprisingly quiet and the back windows look over gardens which are so peaceful.
If I were staying in London there is nowhere else I would rather live.
