Description

Stirling House was built to a particularly high standard by the current owner in 2005 and has been extensively refurbished recently. Constructed of dressed Shaftesbury greenstone, with a slate tiled roof and Bath stone mullion windows with bronze casements, every detail has been carefully considered. Throughout the house are solid oak floors. Vaulted ceilings upstairs give a feeling of space and light.

Portland stone steps lead up to the double front door and into the entrance hall, from which leads the large kitchen/dining room. This spacious room is triple aspect, with double oak doors out onto the terrace. The cosy sitting room has an elegant Bath stone fireplace. Completing the ground floor is a study/bedroom four and a shower room/lavatory. Upstairs, from the vaulted galleried landing, is the principal bedroom, with dressing area and en suite shower room, two further double bedrooms, one with a mezzanine level, and a family bathroom with a roll-top slipper bath.

The house is approached, via double gates in beech hedging, onto a gravel driveway with parking. The garden wraps around the house, with areas of lawn and box hedging interspersed with decking and gravel terraces, all offering different seating areas to maximize the benefit of the sun and shade at differing times of the day. There is an attractive home office/summer house, with adjacent shed storage, in the front garden, alongside a large gravelled terrace. A little thatched children’s playhouse (Shroom Cottage) sits alongside the recently constructed raised vegetable beds. The garden benefits from an abundance of roses and mature trees, including lime and silver birch.

Please note that, unless specifically mentioned, all fixtures and fittings and garden ornaments are excluded from the sale.
