Description
With origins believed to date from 1785, Till Cottage is a picturesque country cottage, nestled in a pretty and private river-side garden. Constructed in the traditional style of white painted cob and thatch, the cottage has been extended and refurbished by the current owners, to include a triple-aspect kitchen/breakfast room, with French doors out onto a terrace, overlooking the River Till. The kitchen benefits from shaker-style cupboards, granite worktops, an electric Aga and integrated appliances. The adjacent utility room has a stone tiled floor, further cupboards, a sink and a stable door out onto the garden. In the original part of the house, the dual-aspect sitting room has an inglenook fireplace with a woodburning stove and French doors onto the garden. It leads through to a cosy study/snug, again with French doors onto the garden. Upstairs, the principal bedroom is triple aspect, with views over the river. There are three further bedrooms, one with a dressing room, a family bathroom and a shower room.
Little Till has a kitchen/dining room, with a front door onto the drive and a back door onto its own bijou garden and terrace overlooking the river. Upstairs is a sitting room, double bedroom, dressing room/hall and shower room. To one side of the annex is a single garage, to the other a car port, with workshop behind and potting shed to one side.
The particular appeal of this property is the beautiful, tranquil setting and the abundance of wildlife, including kingfishers, herons, egrets, swans, moor hens, mallards and barn owls. The cottage is approached over a long wooded track, about 300 yards down from the main road. The River Till winds around the eastern boundary of the garden, which is mainly laid to south-facing, sweeping lawns, underplanted with spring bulbs. At various points, there are steps into the river and little bridges across it. The current owners are experienced gardeners and have created wide herbaceous borders of roses, tulips, malus, viburnum and lavender. Numerous mature trees, including silver birch, weeping willow, ash, beech and sycamore line the boundaries of the garden. A spectacular wisteria climbs across the southern elevation of the house, above the terrace. A summer house is positioned at the far end of the garden, overlooking apple, plum and pear trees, and sheds/woodsheds offer additional storage. There is also a productive vegetable garden and a greenhouse.

Broadband speed is measured in megabits per second, with the number returned showing how fast the connection is. Each reading is based on the highest predicted speed of any major broadband network for services that deliver the download speeds. The following are the different readings that we may display:
Basic: Up to 30 Mbit/s
Super-fast: Between 30 Mbit/s and 300 Mbit/s
Ultra-fast: Over 300 Mbit/s
The data is updated three times a year. The checker results are predictions and should not be regarded as guaranteed. For more information, see: https://checker.ofcom.org.uk/en-gb/about-checker#Answer_0_2
Mobile phone signal availability and predicted strength: obtained from Ofcom on April 12, 2022
Mobile signal predictions are provided by the four UK mobile network operators: EE, O2, Three and Vodafone. Predictions can vary significantly from the coverage you may actually experience as a result of local factors (especially terrain). Ofcom has tested the actual coverage provided in various locations around the UK to help ensure that these predictions are reasonable. The values shown against a property can be broken down as follows:
Clear: No bars, no signal predicted
Red: One bar, reliable signal unlikely
Amber: Two bars, may experience problems with connectivity
Green: Three bars, likely to have good coverage and receive a data rate to support basic web services
Enhanced: Full bars, likely to have good coverage indoors and to receive an enhanced data rate to support multimedia services
Energy Performance data and Internal floor area: obtained on May 26, 2010 from The Energy Performance of Buildings (Certificates and Inspections) (England and Wales) Regulations 2007 or the Home Report if in relation to a residential property in Scotland.
