This early 15th Century former Kentish Yeoman's House or Wealden Hall was built circa 1410 and has undergone many transformations during its varied ownership. Afforded Grade II Listed status, the property offers a wealth of character features over its three floors and cellar, including original wide oak floorboards and brick tiled floors in many rooms and is surrounded on all sides by mature gardens, in a plot approaching 0.25 acres overall.

The East Wing was built between 1585-1611, and incorporates the current kitchen with Smoke Loft and included the addition of brick chimneys, fireplaces and a floor over the current lounge, previously the Great Hall with the original rear of the house retaining a Tudor window, as mentioned in the Listing. The West extension of brick forms the "L" shaped addition, which was built circa 18th Century.

The property has undergone major renovation by previous owners, notably the Simmonds Family between 1952-1974, who opened the house and gardens to the public and was made famous by featuring the gardens in a number of books and articles about country gardens. More recently, works include a rebuilt roof and thoroughly updating the plumbing and electrics throughout, to include a new boiler which was installed in 2017.

This unique home offers flexible accommodation, with a number of receptions and bedrooms, which can be configured to suit either a large family or professionals looking for exceptional living and entertaining space.

The drive up to the property provides ample off street parking to the front, with the remaining mature gardens offering various diversions, including an Italianate fountain facing the lawn which can be viewed from the kitchen, a sunken garden for shaded seating and generous patio area. With many varieties of mature trees, including Fig and Walnut, Apple and Yew, there are some ancient rambling Roses and a well developed Wisteria draped across a trellised arch and outbuilding. The greenhouse is close to 2 raised beds which are used for raspberries, rhubarb and tomatoes, with the provision of 3 Water butts supplied by rainwater harvested from the large cat slide roof.

The historic village of Hollingbourne has some 100 listed buildings and three conservation areas and is served by three local pubs, a village store and Post Office and hairdressers as well as a popular local Primary School. Commuters are well served, with the nearby Hollingbourne Mainline train station offering regular services into London and the nearby M20 motorway, with the County Town of Maidstone a short drive away, offering a wide range of shopping, leisure and transport facilities.
