Recency or priced based search results
The OnTheMarket homepage will automatically show the most recent homes to come to market at the top of the search results page and in property alerts. These include the ‘New & exclusive’ listings which are properties launched at OnTheMarket 24 hours or more before Rightmove or Zoopla.*
You can also choose your price range, property type and the number of bedrooms. You can choose to create a property alert for any search and this is easily done by following the red button prompt. To filter the results with the most expensive or least expensive property first, hit the ‘Most recent’ tab in the top right and change the setting.
It’s also possible to draw your own search to examine specific areas if you need to see more properties.
Draw your search
OnTheMarket’s map tool enables you to draw a search area, meaning you will only receive search results and any property alerts for available homes within a specified boundary. You can include train stations and schools or whatever else is relevant and important for you. You can save this search with all of your other specifications, including price and number of bedrooms.
1. Search on the homepage for the area where you would like to draw a specified search eg Birmingham
2. Click the map view option above the search results
3. From the map view, select ‘Draw’ and draw the area you would like to save
4.Click ‘Create alert’ in the top left
Instant property alerts
To be first to see properties matching your search as soon as they appear at OnTheMarket.com set up an instant property alert at OnTheMarket. OnTheMarket features thousands of new properties each month, 24 hours or more before they are advertised on Rightmove or Zoopla,* so if you’re looking to buy or to rent, save your alert and you will be sent a selection of homes that are new to market directly to your email inbox.
Sold prices
If you are looking to sell your home it’s a good idea to research sold prices based on Land Registry data to find out at what price properties in your local area have been sold for, to compare with asking prices of similar properties on the market and to understand what you can afford to buy.
This can be done by searching at OnTheMarket and selecting ‘Value my home‘ on the main navigation. This simple and free way to check property prices paid will help you to estimate house values throughout the UK.
