There can’t be many former school buildings as pretty as this one.

Originally known as The School Room, Ravenlee is a mid-terrace Victorian Grade II-listed cottage which has been fully modernised throughout.

View Ravenlee which is for sale at £225,000 and is marketed by Chancellors, Kington at OnTheMarket.

In the little Welsh village of Norton in Powys, very close to the border with England, the terrace of which Ravenlee is a part was built by Sir Richard Green-Price of Norton Manor Park in 1871 for his estate employees.

The cottage was the school for employees’ children and the staff lived in the beautiful homes on either side.

Ravenlee has three levels with two bedrooms and two reception rooms, a kitchen-diner, bathroom, lobbies front and back and two substantial outbuildings.

The front entrance lobby, with the Victorian children’s coat hooks still on the walls, opens through the original front door into the main reception room, which shares the beautiful, arched windows with the second floor reception room.

The wooden floors have electric underfloor heating and there is a 3kw biofuel stove in the main reception room.

The main bedroom is on the mezzanine and has two bronze skylights, exposed rafters and plenty of storage in the eaves cupboards.

This is a little gem not to be missed out on.
