With a view like this, you’d be forgiven for thinking this penthouse was priced in the millions – but you’d be wrong.

Apartment 2 at Savoy Court is one of 10 flats in a newly converted building located in the centre of Penzance.

It is for sale for £249,950 and is being marketed by Lillicrap Chilcott, Truro at OnTheMarket.

Large Velux roof windows allow mesmerising views across Mounts Bay all the way from St Michael’s Mount and Marazion along the Lizard Peninsula coastline and around to Newlyn harbour and the Land’s End coastline.

The duplex penthouse boasts three bedrooms and two bath/shower rooms, with a semi-open plan kitchen/dining/living room under a vaulted ceiling on the upper floor.

The bedrooms are on the lower floor, with the master bedroom having its own bath/shower room and a Juliet balcony to the west side, allowing an oblique view to the sea.

The other two bedrooms share a shower room. Savoy Court is a conversion of an older building to the rear of the recently improved Savoy Cinema on Causewayhead.

The space is serene and quiet, well away from the hustle and bustle of the town as the apartment building does not front or overlook any of the busy streets.

A lift and smart staircase rise up through the floors giving access to each apartment.

They all have brand new contemporary kitchens and crisp white decoration throughout, as well as new 999 year leases.

Penzance is considered to be the capital of West Cornwall and is at the end of the Penzance to Paddington main railway line with direct trains to London.

The town has a rich seafaring heritage and its centre abounds with period buildings which house a wide array of high street names and more specialised retailers.

There are many galleries in Penzance and neighbouring Newlyn offers a large and colourful fishing fleet.

Within Penzance there are hotels, restaurants, cafés, museums, education for all ages and a hospital.

West Cornwall is known for its rugged beauty and is surrounded by the South West Coast Path which leads over dramatic cliff tops to sheltered coves and larger sandy beaches.

These include Praa Sands to the east, while to the far west are Sennen Cove and Whitesand Bay near Land’s End, a two-mile long stretch of beautiful white sands beside a picturesque harbourside village that is renowned for surfing.

To the south is Mousehole, which attracts people from all over Europe to see its harbourside lights at Christmas, and about 20 minutes’ drive to the north is the resort and surfing town of St Ives.
